We are reaching out with heavy hearts to share the story of one of our own, Matt Powell, a dedicated firefighter from the City of Riverside Fire Department who has recently been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Since joining the department in 2013, Matt has been a beacon of strength, dedication, and service, putting his life on the line to protect and serve our community.

Matt married his amazing wife Aly, and together they have three adorable children. His family is his rock, and they have been his steadfast support throughout this difficult journey.

Now, it’s our turn to support him. Despite the best efforts and available insurance, there are significant uncovered treatment costs, travel expenses, and day-to-day living expenses that will create strain on Matt and his family during this already difficult time.
